About Emily Stroud 

As a dancer and choreographer my work is often theatrical and whimsical in nature. My choreographic practice involves blending Contemporary dance with theatrical elements to create bold, dynamic pieces that engage and captivate audiences.

I aim to create a fun and energetic class that blends my own movement vocabulary— rooted in rhythm and detail—with space for dancers to explore their own interpretation. I encourage participants to engage deeply with movement, enjoy themselves and embrace musicality and dynamic expression.  

 

 

Class Description

The class will begin with an improvisation-based warm-up to awaken and inhabit the body, allowing for free expression and awareness. This will be followed by a series of shorter, technique based exercises that gradually increase in complexity. The class will culminate in a longer phrase, integrating the movements explored throughout the session, allowing participants to apply what they've learned. ​​
